Driven by the smooth vocals and downright nasty-guitar work of the
band's founder Greg Luttrell (who has been compared to Marvin Gaye,
Sly Stone and Lenny Kravitz); airtight rhythm section of drummer/vocalist
Tony Hall and bassist Mik Mersha; lush and post modern keyboard sounds
from Ron Poster (formerly of the Missing Persons) and Ben Hillman,
("the Professor of Funk"), the band has been amazing audiences
all over with their diverse yet innately funky sound. Luttrell and
Hall's exceptional lead and harmony vocals weave together seamlessly
and the qualities of both their voices shine. Performance personnel
ranges from 5-10 players and many shows feature explosive percussionist
Yahuba Garcia along with the funky family horns and some reknown guest
vocalists and musicians. Every live Michigan Blacksnake performance
is a unique experience. |

In the tradition of American Hipshaking Soul music, Michigan Blacksnake waves
its banner with rhythmic passion, vibrating the senses... shattering all misconceptions
of the funk. Their fresh delivery and old school foundation is fueled by the
groove and blended with their own sound.
